How to share Classroomscreen with others

With sharing, you can ensure that students, teachers, and administrators have access to your work when they need it. You can access sharing from different locations in your account, choose what information you wish to share, and modify or disable the permissions of the collections that you've shared.

Your collection of screens will be shared through a link you can generate in two different ways:

In your dashboard, the sharing feature will be accessible within each collection. Via the collection options menu, click on 'Share collection' to create your link.

Sharing settings

Managing privacy

Once you've selected 'Share collection', from either your dashboard or your widget screen, a small window will appear. From here, you will be able to decide what information you want to share - you can use the toggle to include or exclude name lists, images, and backgrounds that are used in that collection to ensure privacy. Once youre ready, just click 'Create public link' to decide how others will be able to use your collection of screens!

important:

If you are including name lists and/or backgrounds and images, make sure you're allowed to publicly share this data.

Managing permissions

Next, you'll be able to choose if you want to modify the permissions of that collection to 'View' or 'View & Duplicate'.

When choosing 'View', users are not able to make a copy of your collection and import it to their own account. They can only see your collection in view-only mode.

To share it, just click 'Copy link' and send it along! If you change your mind after you've shared a collection, no problem - just click the 'Disable public link' button and access will no longer be possible for anyone with the link.

note:

If the recipient has no account or a Basic account, they will be able to use and edit screens from collections that are shared with them, but will not be able to share with others. It's important to mention that this will not impact the appearance of the screens that are saved in your account.

Top tip: Use a fixed aspect ratio

If you share a collection that has a 'Fill screen' aspect ratio set, a little warning will pop up. It is highly recommended to create the screens you share using a fixed aspect ratio setting, for example, 16:9 or 4:3. With these fixed aspect ratios, you ensure that the recipients of your screens import the screen in the exact dimensions you used to create the screen.

Opening shared screens

If you open the public link, by default, you will always enter the view-only mode of the screen. In this mode, you cannot make any edits or interact with widgets.

Refresh your screen

If the owner of the screen makes a change, you can retrieve the latest version of the screen in the collection using the refresh button in your browser.

Making it your own

If the owner has allowed duplication, you can click the 'Copy & Edit' button to modify the screen and interact with the widgets. With a Pro account (using the 'Import & Edit' button), you will be able to save this screen for later!

Want to share a single screen?

If you are looking for a way to share a single screen, we recommend creating a collection with the one that you want to share.
