What's new in Classroomscreen: December 2024

7 min

Hi there! It’s been a while since we last gave an update on everything Classroomscreen, but now we have something big to share - sharing is live! This update has been a long time coming, so we are super excited to see it come to life in classrooms around the world. We also have made lots of little improvements and added new content for you to enjoy, so let’s get down to business.

Sharing your collections

You can now create sharable links to your collections of screens in just a few clicks. This is a great way to collaborate with other teachers, share your work with administrators, or keep your class on track when you need to have a substitute.

Here’s how it works:

  • Pro users can share their screens and add shared screens to their workspaces.
  • Basic users or someone without an account can view & edit shared screens, but cannot share their screen as it is not saved.

note:

How can I use it in my classroom?

  • Share your screen with students so they can vote remotely, play games in pairs, or just catch up on work after class - no account needed!
  • Collaborate with other teachers by sharing your screens for different classes - a problem shared is a problem solved right?

New backgrounds & stickers

Whilst designing new features and templates, we knew we’d need even more stickers to bring our ideas to life. So, we’ve created several new sticker sheets for Classroomscreen, including:

Seasonal & themed stickers: Explore beautifully illustrated stickers and backgrounds for Autumn, Halloween, and Winter, as well as calming designs perfect for any time of year.
Math, Music, Weather, and Space sticker sheets: From number charts and music notes to all the planets in the solar system, these new sticker sheets are ready to make your lessons more engaging.
Other fun additions: We’ve added new directional stickers, celebration stickers, positive vibes, and alphabet stickers to give you even more ways to customize your screens.

We’ve made over 100 templates

Since we launched the Library in April this year, we had no idea that we would reach over 100 ready-made screens only six months later. We’ve just added 15 new ones including literacy-building games, lots of elementary-level math activities and even a ‘Choose your lunch’ screen.

We are hoping to keep adding activities for a long time to come, so if you have a suggestion, submit your ideas here - we’d love to hear from you!

Little tweaks here and there

We’ve also made several updates to enhance customization, improve widgets, and fix bugs for a smoother experience.

Widget improvements

You can now adjust the time format in the timetable settings (12h or 24h clock) and all clock-oriented widgets in your account will be automatically changed to match. You can also now sort group members in the Group maker widget by A–Z, Z–A, or randomly, and you have the option to clear all groups easily. The Sound level widget now displays a clear info box when no microphone is detected. The ‘Meet the Widgets’ section on our website has been expanded with new additions to help you learn more about each widget.

UX improvements

Behind the scenes, we’ve fixed bugs to improve app functionality, including better handling of locked and grouped objects, sorting background slideshows, and ensuring smoother selections. These updates aim to streamline your workflow and provide greater flexibility!

…that’s all folks!

We hope you're as excited about these updates as we are! With the long-awaited sharing feature now live, alongside new content, templates, and behind-the-scenes improvements, we hope that Classroomscreen is becoming even more helpful in your daily teaching.

As always, we’d love to hear your feedback, so don’t hesitate to share your thoughts and ideas.

Happy teaching!
